During research New Diagnostic Technologies have been developed and field-tested:

FLOTAC is a novel apparatus to conduct a multivalent faecal egg count. It is based on flotation and centrifugation and translation.
In the following documents you can find more information about FLOTAC.

The Svanovir® O. ostertagi-Ab ELISA has been marketed as a tool that enables a new strategy for nematode control in cattle. It is an indirect ELISA for the detection of O. ostertagi antibodies in bovine milk samples.

The Grassmaster II probe is used to measure the pasture mass for the field trial that is being conducted in Scotland.  The pasture mass data is being used to ensure that any losses in lamb performance are attributed to parasitism rather than reduced herbage availability.

FecPak is a system which is used for faecal egg counting (FEC) to help target anthelmintic treatments. Ten farms in the UK have been provided a FecPak and tuition on how to use the system.
